it's because the threads usually do not offer anything new that's of value - I have a feeling it's mostly a couple of the same people reposting their favorite pieces over and over and over and over, and the majority of the rare new OCs miss the mark by mixing up what a Gondola should be and what /wsg/'s YGYL is, and you end up with Gondolas with weird energetic/unfitting music that just kinda... is, but doesn't elicit any response.
But it's not over yet, it will be over when someone organically posts their fresh OC and it will be a Gondola with monkey rap in the background, and other anons will unironically call it soulful or /feels/ or nostalgic - that's when it will be over.
