It has to do with how video compression works
Basically a video only has a full complete frame once in a while, and the other frames between those only store the differences between that frame and a previous one
So if for example you have a scene where someone just speaks in front of a relatively static background, you don't need a lot of data since you can re-use a lot of data from previous frames. Not only that but if a frame is simple visually (solid white background for example) the video can just have the data for a tiny part and re-use it for every part of the image that is identical

this is with ltx2 and video related is the good gen that was solid. In the video lunafreya, the lighting and environment remains visual consistent from the starting image which is what i want. The animation is solid. she's prompted to speak the follow text "thank you for prompting me into existence anon, i love you so much" which she does in the video. The quality of generated videos for today has degraded significantly. I tried to get Sora 2 to do a drive thru exchange video and it just would not do it at all. I tried a very long and complicated prompt of Donald Trump (wearing his signature red MAGA hat and his suit and tie underneath the McDonalds apron and wearing the drive thru headset) working the McDonald's drive thru and handing off a bag of McDonalds fries to a customer (with all the other background descriptions including the car and the customer and such) and after several botched gens and mistakes it at least managed to pull it off. Sora 2 just couldn't do it no matter what I tried, while it took effort but Grok pulled it off. Deep down even with all the vast training data that Sora 2 has access to, it is still a slop generator and a lot of things will still come out botched and look bad. It really is good only for simplistic shitposting only and anything beyond that you can expect to be botched. My thing is that Grok is a lot less censored than Sora 2 and you don't have to worry about copyrighted likeness at all. But the tradeoff is that Grok has less training data while Sora 2 has more. both can and can't do certain things. Sora 2 has long length clips. Grok can only do videos up to 6 seconds. Competition between xAI and OpenAI with AI video that includes sound + speech is pushing this technology forward. And we don't exactly have a proper open source local method for this yet so we have to deal with the corpo backed AI video slop machines that are botched here and there. It's better to have competition than only one model from one company being expected to do everything we want - while it ends up getting censored and cucked out of doing copyrighted likeness and having all the fun removed.

I'm not sure, I think adding "AGH!" in the dialogue may have been part of it. I've noticed exclamation points makes a difference as well as describing their emotional state. This was the prompt:

Run your prompt through ai. You can do it for free with claude and google. It's not perfect, but it can help you with your prompting. Alternatively, you can just look at other people's videos. A lot of people (myself included) leave their prompts in their videos. All that said, you're still roll the dice either way. Happy Halloween, my friends!

nah veo3 has a variety of voice types depending on the prompt of character speaking. The video i recently been posting are made with ltx2 image to video. The audio is indeed generic, very limited and leaves a lot to be desired but for a open source model that will be released later this month, its a massive game changer for the local open source scene.
