I watched Fate Zero a few years ago and didn't like it. It was too goofy for me. Should I keep up with this series?

Fate Zero is generally regarded as the best part of the Fate series so if you didn't like it the series probably isn't for you.

The problem with the Fate series is that the spinoffs are better than the mainstays. But you kind of have to watch the main series to understand the lore/humor of the spinoffs.

I had so much fun watching Carnival Phantasm and Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan. I didn't have as much fun watching/reading the actual Fate series.

That said, I'm with the other guy. Fate/Zero is the best/least shitty of the series. And I consumed a lot of Fate media. If I had to do it all over again, I would stick to Fate/stay night (the original VN, not the anime) and Fate/Zero. I would disregard everything else.

I should also clarify that when I say "spinoffs," I'm specifically referring to comedic spinoffs. There's the two I mentioned earlier, then there's also Kaleid Liner Prisma Ilya.

The Fate series branches off so much that they are arguably spinoffs too, but otherwise they are serious attempts at storytelling. I still wouldn't recommend them.
