What's the best ROM hack for the original Metroid, in terms of quality of life improvements?
I honestly wanna have a map, and with that alone I would be pretty happy, but are there hacks that come with a map and also other things?
Are there hacks that make it so the game approaches what Zero Mission ended up being?

This is the best ROMHack as far as I know

There's also this fangame called Metroid Planets that has the original game as one of its gamemodes

Jesus, horrifying. Why do fags need to redraw graphics and make it worse?
Op, just use the QoL improvements

I didn't realize there was one with a map and unchanged graphics, I should have read the description better sorry

I like the graphical changes in metroid planets though, still looks a lot like the original and has better physics imho.
the controls in the original are way too stiff for me so I almost always replayed the GBA remake since it came out. But I've always hated the stupid chozo statue hints they added to it (there's a hack to get rid of them though which I used)
