This 6hours .mp4 video file is 10gig big despite the 640p resolution !
I have ffmpeg, how do I make it smaller? I'm not looking for how to use ffmpeg but for what settings to use.

Convert to x265 or AV1

you need to lower the bitrate, this will lower the quality of the video, but doing it all in one shot, will take hours depending on your hardware, so unless you want to protype once every 27 hours, you should learn a little ffmpeg, crop off a small clip of the video and test on that

if you don't care then
`ffmpeg -i [video name].mp4 -c:v libx265 -b:V 2000K [output video name].mp4`

Thanks
I managed to reduce it to 1gig.

Btw : VLC is unable to play av1 so stop recommending it. x265 does the job.

That's retarded. For 2 reasons. 1 who gives a fuck about support of some specific program. 2 VLC can play av1s
