Lost my iphone whilst walking to a store and back to my car i was working on. apparently you can't find its last known location from merely "FindMy" on icloud because you need to have installed the app beforehand on the device in question. same with GoogleMaps. need to have installed the app.

Is there anyway to locate it digitally? phones are always connected to the internet, and thus, cellular towers. how the hell can there not be any way to find out where it last connected to the internet?

You need to remember your IMEI and would need the cooperation of the provider. Or the MAC, but that can be changed more easily.

Can you log into your iCloud account on computer (it doesn't have to be Mac) using your iPhone credinals (email address and password) and check the status and geolocation of your phone? I can do that with my Windows 10 computer for my iPhone 16.

Did you sign in into Apple account on your iPhone when you had the phone in your possession? I did. i didn't sign into the app itself. iPhone SE 2 can receive latest iOS 18.5 update. Maybe the app comes with the new updates, maybe the app is hidden...

it only ask me for my account password when i download and install a new app. it could also be that Icloud wasn't updated, since i remember seeing something like that whenever i went to saved images.

i hope i can at least get my images/contact list back when i get my new phone.

it should've been the latest the SE 2 can go. it always alerts me when a new IOS update is available.

I have tried retracing my steps several times now over the past 2 days. if i dropped it on the ground somewhere in my neighborhood, someone probably picked it up.
