I know it’s probably a long shot, but is anyone here good with iPhones? My phone (12 Pro Max) seems to have a glitch where it artificially increases my storage every time I move some kind of data from it. It also happens when I try to make a backup or enable stuff like iCloud Photos. I’ve looked up and down the internet and while I find people with similar ‘phantom storage’ problems it’s nothing like what I have where it’s this consistent problem with the same thing.
Is anyone else familiar with this and what might be causing it?

It probably make a backup while transferring data, but doesn't delete it after. Try downloading a cleaner and run it. If not works, then you have two options. Discard appleshit and buy an android, or "reset factory" it.

Nah it’s not that, it was doing this before I could even make backups via iCloud, or at least it doesn’t show up in the backup section, is there somewhere else it could be stored that a cleaner would pick up on?

Normally is Cache (android) or Temp (for windows.) Apple may have an equivalent to any of those. A good cleaner will tell you in detail where the memory of your apps and documents is saved. Try with one, you dont lose anything cos it will asked you what erase, so the final choice is yours.
