Guys, is this normal? My laptop got wet. I immediately turned it off, dried it with a towel, drained the excess water and waited around 5 hours for it to dry up completely. When I checked it again it now looks like picture related. Tech anons, what do?

Open up and replace battery ASAP!
Looks like the water shortened something which started the bloating process.
A bloated battery like that can explode or start burning, especially when it's confined. Potentially bad for you, very bad for the hardware.
After it getting wet you should have done that in the first place, just shutting off does not really cut off all the voltage.
Once it has started it cannot be reversed.

Hit with a hammer a couple times to see if there's anything fun in it. If not, throw it in a lake

You can either bring it to an electronics shop for disposal - or do the old and proven method of throwing it in the woods somewhere.

pretty much as>>1532711 said,if you are not used to open it or work with this stuff take to your nearest technician again ASAP, dont press or load weight in it, do not turn it again, if it still does.
Don't shake it too much and if you have some kind of bag or plastic box to frame it inside carefully to move while the battery is removed.
Take care and good luck.
