So, I just got home from work to find the power went out - Should be fine since everything is on power surges, right? Turn on my computer, notice no lights on the modem - Unplug it and try waiting a minute before plugging it back in. Nothing. Try a different spot on the surge protector. Nothing. This shit died through a surge protector whilr the router and computer on the same surge protector did not.

We had this problem before, and the coax cable was given a grounding or some shit to prevent a surge from being able to travel through that to the modem. Anyone heard of a surge destroying a modem through a surge protector without affectinf anything else?

Pic unrelated.
