It's crazy but it works.
I've found they don't like too specific agreements, if I'm like "the nightmare can be about x but not y, I would like to dream about blah blah blah" they just don't show up.
I'm sure there will be somebody saying "oh it's just autosuggestion" but it's a lot more effective, at least in my experience, I've tried affirmations for dreams before without success.
