>looks at me with a confused face
>"what are you doing here anon?"
>wake up in the guest room bed
>look at clock
>its like 4 pm
>don't remember going to sleep
>confused
>ask grandparents when I went to bed
>grandma says I fell asleep on the drive to their house so dad carried me to the guestroom
>grandpa is confused and says that didn't happen
>they argue for like a minute
>he starts freaking out cause he insists that I was still in the living room with him all day
>?
>pretty damn sure I was in the yard
>grandpa says my dad can't drive and it was mom who brought me here
>???
>not true, both my parents can drive
>even have their own cars
>I don't say anything though because grandpa starts to shout and its scary
>grandpa one of those hardcore christians so he takes us all to church despite it being a friday
>sends me home even tho I was supposed to stay over during the weekend
>gives me a rosary

>4 months later grandpa shoots my grandma and then himself

Was my grandpa just a schizo or did something actually happen? Nothing like this ever happened to me again

nah, he was somewhat of a conspiracy theorist before that was a thing though, I remember having him show me some weird shit on edited VHS tapes (not dvds cuz those would 'give you cancer')
hence why im posting here, I dont really believe in paranormal shit except maybe like ghosts and stuff but I am curious if this aligns with any conspiracy or urban legend lol . first thing I thought was wendigo or skinwalker but eh, wouldnt explain why i remembered shit differently

well if thats how your story happened, it is highly strange. these paranormal phenomena don't care about your beliefs. they do happen. do you remember anything else?

Hm, I do remember my grandma trying to invite me and my family over a couple of times after this but she was always cut off by my grandfather and then we would be told to not go near his house, he stopped talking to us entirely after it happened and grandma could only contact us in secret.

My family says that he just had a mental breakdown and im misremembering things, and that could be true, but that doesnt make sense to me, before this my grandfather was the chillest dude ever. hell, my grandma cheated on him when she was like 32 and he forgave her and worked thru it with her so . idk .

well one thing to start with, is that our memories can be both a window and a distortion, they're not necessary reliable

besides how you've retroactively painted a picture of your grandpa based on all your experiences with him, what u went through could easily have been a false awakening.
that's why it's so important to be as rational as possible when looking back at these kinds of events.
if you find yourself out of all possible rational explanations tho, I would go as far as finding a good hypnotherapist and go back to that confusing event, see if you can still recall something you cant remember now.

what you're describing, where multiple people recall different versions of the same event, is often referred to in parapsychology as a time slip. it is quite well documented, despite what might be your assumption right now is

have you or your close relatives ever experienced anything paranormal? it might be worth asking your grandparents first; it certainly couldn't hurt to inquire if they've had any paranormal encounters
