Following this logic, there's literally zero difference between worshipping god and telling him to gargle your nutsack. So why do religious people get so assblasted about blasphemy?

Yes.

Read some Sufi poetry. Conference of the Birds is a nice start, it's got some funny poems in there, too. Fair warning, they also get burned. A lot. Like, at a stake.
