I was asleep and had a nightmare about vaccines and some other stuff. But then I woke up but when I woke up I couldn't move anything except maybe my eyes I was lying on my back with my neck slightly bent and I couldn't move
I heard what sounded like a bunch of stuff breaking. I thought it was just someone in another room in the house knocked over a shelf and glass was breaking but then I thought I saw a light in the hallway go dark so I thought maybe I was being bombed but then I guess I realized I couldn't move this entire time I'm hearing the sounds still but then I thought I was being shot and that's why I can't move those are gunshots they didn't really sound like gunshots but I don't really know what gunshots sound like and I have earplugs in so sound is lessened somewhat
I am an atheist but right around the time I thought I was being shot at I remember thinking to myself something like "god I'm sorry. God please help me. Jesus I'm sorry Jesus please help me." I think I then thought about something very recent I've done which would be considered a sin in Christianity and then I think I was about to think Jesus Rose from the dead and everything that goes with that but right before I could I think I stopped being paralyzed and was able to move.
I think the first thing I did was put my hand on my heart to make sure it's still beating

I've never had a nightmare like this where I'm paralyzed and awake during it before.

Sleep paralysis is fun. Once I had it but I was aware that I was experiencing it. I saw in the corner of my room hovering up against the ceiling was a masked demon staring at me. I fought with all my strength to lift my arm and as I did, it felt like my bed was violently shaking. I then stuck up my middle finger at it. I sure hope sleep paralysis is just the brain being fucky and I didn't disrespect a real demon that is just waiting for the opportunity to mess me up.

Yes sleep paralysis and hypnogogic states are very real and are what you experienced. It is truly all in your head. That being said these phantasmic states have liminal qualities just like dreaming does. You are more apt to see and experience things outside yourself even to the extent of perceiving non-human intelligences which are as real as you or me. C S Lewis came up with the word "hypersomatic" to describe these strange (to us) states. It is a very good and apt word.

Be very careful though. C S Lewis in his scifi trilogy (picked up the word previously mentioned via this trilogy btw) said all the planets are ruled over by archons but that earth had been usurped by the "bent one" and "black archon". As a result he said that earth is under a kind of preternatural quarantine.

I say all this because I want you to be careful with this stuff. Don't go trying to artificially induce these kinds of states. We are fallen creatures and indeed you could very much say the earth is quarantined. As a result any inherent preternatural powers of mind should not be used. There are very many spiritual parasites and malevolent fallen intelligences wandering here or there. By opening this shit up you essentially are giving everything in your vicinity legal right to interact with you and even manipulate you. They may even try to attach to you or take over your body.
