So this pretty clearly states that the Garden of Eden is a real place in the Middle East, East of Israel, the Euphrates is a real river. So does the Bible really allege that there is a real garden with the tree of life in it, east of Israel near the Euphrates river, and God only appointed a guard on the east side of Eden specifically? If this is supposedly a real garden how come nobody has found it before? I'm sure all the ancient people thought this was a real garden and some of them probably went looking for it. Lol.

I've been thinking about Eve a lot today. How do some modern people have more faith in God than she did? She literally spoke to him. She knows he created her, yet she rebelled because that is the nature of woman. An ancient-to-the-ancients warning against exactly what we have now.

Dude, every religion is geographically obsessed. At least in its original form. Shinto is all about how the sun goddess and her family created Japan and became the progenitors of its imperial lineage. Buddhism's Bodhi Tree just magically happened to exist close enough to Siddhartha that he could find and meditate under it. Norse pagans thought the "north" was the entrance to Jotunheimr.

And hey, I have no issue with the idea that locations can be sacred. The trouble is that ALL of these religions just magically happen to have their core cosmology centered around geographically locked locations that just happen to be near the people who wrote the stories of these locations. God is either a liar who tells a million different stories to a million different people, or people have been creating god in their own image since the dawn of time. So yeah, no fucking shit the garden of eden is just magically beside the Euphrates to a group of semitic tribes who happened to live there.

Show me a native American religion that says the great spirit revealed himself to people in Australia instead of the Iroquois confederacy and THEN you'll have my attention.

Fact is, biblical literalism is kind of a modern contrivance. We're actually pretty aware than for most of the history of christian, the book of Genesis was considered fable, allegory at most. It's only the lead-poisoned moderns who think talking snakes real tricked a rib woman into eating a magic apple.

Now, I'm not saying this validated any Abrahamic religion, or anything. Just that you have to be mindful of how you pick this thing apart.
