I just read a wikipedia article about Scholomance, and I suspect it might be a bait.
It said its underground, when it is in fact under a lake. And allegedly 10 students, when there were only 5 of us. And only one could leave afterwards.

I got obsessed with this some years ago. Amid all the links about WoW and whatever else bullshit, there are some pretty great sites out there discussing the possible seeds of truth behind the legend. It's pretty cool, not to mention one of several alleged "black school" legends around Europe, alongside Wittenberg (alleged home of Faust and actual home of Martin Luther, which places a whole Catholic v. Protestant air upon it), and possibly some links to the Cyprian tradition. I'm sure I have my notes someplace...
