The Archangel Michael has his Akkadian roots as Reshef, the God of the Underworld. Reshef was later known as Mikal which meant red and alluded to Mars. He was also later conflated with, or known as Marduk.


Centuries later, he represented agriculture and then was later depicted with wings on coins, and then the nose tribe adopted him. No, his name did not derive from the strength of El/God. His hebrew name came from Mikal. The jooze did not have angelology in their lore until their exile in Babylon.

I've had a lot of problems with angels but never a problem with St. Michael. He truly fights w/ Honor. You can see his Honor and Glory in pic related (kind of cliche). One thing I meditated on when I was Catholic is that the scales he holds act as a fulcrum which legitimately guide his other hand holding the sword. He fights thru Justice, I have NEVER had a problem with him!

For a while I was spamming LBRP (I'm not much of a believer, but I wanted to) and none of my mental images of angels had much to say to me or emote other than Michael who I for some reason pictured as having the attitude of a tough guy italian american who picks on you in a well meaning way. I would have thoughts that he was saying stuff like "This guy again?", "Oh, now he comes back". Now that I think about it I felt some disapproval from Uriel, and a sort of relatable detached haughtiness from Gabriel. That being said, I think this was all imaginary. I don't know why I'm telling you this. If Michael is truly my spiritual boy, he will visit this thread.
