I believe a person without a home and other basic necessities are unable to discover their spiritual self, as their are focused on the survival of their mortal, physical body.

You're unable to reach a higher level of spirituality if you're always stressing about rent, credit cards, etc. Reaching financial stability is mandatory if you want to truly discover yourself.
