It depends on whether or not hypnosis can actually recover memories. I think generally the answer is no but I'm not sure it has ever really been studied in a way to give a definitive answer. It could be that abductees are in a hypnotic state while abducted and placing them under hypnosis has a state-dependent memory recall effect or placing them under hypnosis undoes a post-hypnotic amnesia.

The first one is very credible to me but the second one goes off the deep end and I'm just not sure what to make of it but I can't say there's anything in particular that makes me think "this is bullshit" except for how disgusting come of the content is. Here's what I think works for him:
1) Operations Blue Book and Grudge are out in the open, you can read their Wikipedia pages. In fact, my personal unofficial radar for Wiki pages is that when there's something serious to look into, they generally have this habit of going "ok so people involved think there's something to it and there's evidence, but random skeptic faggots and the government say there isn't so case closed" which fits for Blue Book.
2) He goes into these things in detail in the first book and is very critical of the government, leaving the impression that it was either criminal incompetence or that it was all deliberately buried.
3) He goes into detail regarding his techniques and methodology. Maybe it's just because I'm a sperg, but when someone admits their faults and generally shows some introspection as well as an honest dedication to the truth, I'm inclined to believe that the person actually has a brain. There's far too much sensationalism, cowboyism, complete disregard of sourcing and academic rigour within the paranormal. The average fag on 4chan distrusts academia, not without good reason, but the average fag on 4chan is also a braindead moron.
4) He sticks his name onto this. As a pretty public figure, his faculty could have said, "You're bringing a bad name to our university, gtfo" so actually stating who you are with contact info is pretty ballsy.
5) His website has a decent amount on info on it. Honest people I find tend to be far more willing to share information.
My impression is that he isn't lying. Whether he's *correct* is another matter and that could be down to poor technique or something else.
