Why would the name Jesus do anything? That wasn't his name. Even if it were, what would a name have to do with an angel that lost a civil war, or two different species of life? Is it the association with your God that matters in this situation? If you're christian, then shouldn't your existence itself repel these things by nature of your acceptance of your God into your heart? In theory you should carry far more divine presence than any mistranslated and whitewashed name ever would.

Spirits as a term is so universal that it applies to malicious as well as benevolent beings, and the benevolents obviously wouldn't get smacked.
Same for fairies. Some are good, some are naughty. There's health and balance there, and a lot of ignorance from people, so depending on the people's mental state and spiritual dissonance you'll hear different stories about the fairies and fae. It's why they traditionally look broadly similar, but a fairie can look like a typical happy bright high elf with cute wings, and another looks like a desolate hobgoblin with dead baby blood dripping from the corner of his mouth.

No, but they go away.
There is many reasons.
The demon/asura/fair folk have same level freewill that humans have, so some of them are as religious as humans can be.
It is not just about the name of Jesus sending them to Hell/Otherworld.
Some of them by hearing the name of Jesus may not harm you because THEY are Christian or Muslim too(remember that Jesus is a prophet in Islam).
