I practice out of the Picatrix and have been for 5 years now. Best grimoire I've ever worked out of. If you're gonna use it to do the magic that I do the talismans are important however the missing key that is in the picatrix but isnt outright outlined is spirit conjuration. The picatrix provides a list of spirits and their associated planets without a clear outline of how to conjure them. You want to conjure those spirits and ask them to lend themselves or bind them to your talisman when you make it. Not a lot of Picatrix magus will tell you this, im unsure if its because they havent figured it out or its a secret. But pay attention to the directional spirits associated with each planet in that book. Those are the ones you need to contact and ask to aid you in your magic. When you invoke the planets you need to ask them for initiation. Once you've initiated into the planet then you can wield their spirits for your own ends and they'll obey you.
