Skip the movie and just read the comic. I finished the comic and watched the movie afterward, it's utter shit in comparison (but I will concede that they chose great actors for the roles, especially Rorschach and the Comedian)

True, the comic is so much better. Also, it has a lot of esoteric themes. Ozymandias especially resonated with me.

yeah right. i liked how they did that character. its really not a bad movie though im sure the comics cover a lot more ground of course.

The movie doesnt go as far and as meta as the comic. Like leaving Earth because he was sad he gave some bitch cancer.
In the comic he leaves because he knows it is the time to leave. It plays a lot more into "I am not omnipotent, I can simply see everything that was/is/will be happening. A puppet that sees the strings.
He can disintegrate people because the comic author drew that he disintegrated people. Not because he had any choice in the matter.

Don't watch the ultimate cut without reading the comic, I feel like that specific cut was only made to appease comic nerds like me. Directors cut is good for non comic readers, never ever watch the theatrical cut though. In short, read the comic.
