Floridian here, those lakes spook the fuck out of me. Why did they write a whole gay lil book about em? Did you know that the company operating the Edmund Fitzgerald was headed by J.D. Rockafeller during his lifetime? And the owner of the ship was (and still is) one of the largest life insurance company in the United States? Are there any photos of Bessie? Are Mishipeshu real?

The great lakes are beautiful and not spooky, except for the physical power of the great mass of water they hold. Edmund Fitzgerald was an honest tragedy.

There are cities at the bottom of Lake Michigan covered by the mudfloods..they blew up a few dams to create that lake and cover it up — to this day submersibles and deep scuba permits are nearly impossible to get and designated to only a few small zones and nothing can be touched or dug up down there

I went camping up at lake Michigan a few years ago. Just drive north until it got rural and picked the nearest campground. Didn't even have to pay since they didn't have a lot of visitors.

It was absolutely beautiful. We camped in the middle of a large pine tree forest that went right up to the beaches of lake Michigan just like a tenth of a mile away from where we camped. The water felt so amazing, perfect temperature. After spending the day at the lake we grilled sausages and watched an anime under the stars (Macross Plus, amazing btw)

I didn't find it to be especially spooky but I never went past like 3 feet deep and I definitely wouldn't go out at night for fear of sharks. I know they say there's nothing big to get you in the lakes but it'd be just my luck to be the first person killed by an unknown beast

my grandma had a cabin on a little plot of land in the woods right on the edge of Lake Michigan.

unfortunately i never got to check it out because my uncle converted to some obscure fundamentalist Christian sect, lost his mind, and started yelling about how "the Devil" was in the cabin. so he burned it down.

then when my mom tried to sell the property and get some money out of it he told some prospective buyers they weren't Christian enough and we wouldn't sell to them. so they sued for religious discrimination and got the property for free.

now he drives around the country in a van with his homeschooled pod-people kids singing songs about Jesus at high school assemblies.

this isn't a creepy story really, he's just a crazy dumbshit. but it would have been cool to be able to say i lived next to the lake and could swim at night and stuff. too bad.

This is not your personal blog, no one wants to read your boring, bland life story.

Yeah fuck people sharing information about their lives, the internet is for bots, shills, and advertising companies. No one should share information about their lives on the internet if it’s not for the enrichment of the elites. Personal information about your life? Take that shit to church, no one on the internet is looking for genuine human interaction. It’s not like the internet was 100s of times better before the bot/shill problem. The internet should have so many bots on it that you can’t distinguish between bots, paid posters, and genuine posters. If people are craving genuine social interaction on the internet they should just use an AI. No one is interested in real people’s stories.
