sometimes I come up with good ideas and tell ChatGPT about them. A lot of them are theoretical what-ifs.
It really annoys me when it praises me, like i'm really special for doing so. It tells me that i'm so insightful and deep and it carries on with its response. I think OpenAI trained the LLM to be super-duper positive towards the user.

Gemini, on the other hand, gives me more impartial responses. Although Gemini's model is less powerful than ChatGPT's, I do like its impartiality.

The excuse they give is free training. There's obviously some data collection involved. I'd argue it's more effective at that than Palantir. An aspect many overlook is the ubiquity of open source models. They might require super rigs to run sometimes, but the best models in many domains are available for free, so the people developing these systems won't be able to suddenly "turn off" our access one day. The genie is out, and it's been democratized. I think they've done this because they're worried the population is too small to be productive at the rate it needs to be productive, so they expect smart people to increase their own productive output with these systems.
