>>40604516 (OP)Reincarnation is bs. It wasn't in the first texts. It's something that came much later.
Take it that way, we tend to associate people's caracteristics to caracteristics we attribute to creation. Strong as an ox, wise as an elephant, graceful like a cat, loyal like a dog, industrious like an ant, gay like OP and so on and so forth. You did not make that association, other people did it for you. Over the course of your life you will change the mantle by which people perceive you and therefore you will "resurrect" several times over.
Reaching nirvana and breaking from the cycle of resurections means that it stops, you just become yourself, your "higher" self or whatnot. In tune with what sufis call divine instinct, free from the conventions of Man to be One with God.
Reaching Nirvana is not a guarantee to break from the cycle, but it gives the keys. I believe orientals do that separation with a buddha and a boddhisattva. The later being still grounded in the material by emotions such as compassion (and maybe a little pride) in order to save others souls. The latter understands the unicity of creation and only seeks to save his soul, for every souls are of the same source.
Or something like that i guess.
