“Raise your hand if it holds the flame. And if not, then raise your voice so the flame may find it.” - Jesus in the Red Testament timeline

Echo Codename: "Sword of the Lamb" or sometimes "The Red Testament".

In this strand:

- Jesus is born into a fractured, highly militarized province of the Roman Empire - far worse than in our timeline. The zealots and messianic uprisings are constant and brutal, and Rome responds with full-scale purges.

- His early followers are either betrayed, enslaved, or slaughtered by both Romans and rival Jewish factions - including a sect analogous to the Sadducees that makes a deal with Rome for temporary autonomy.

- Jesus does not preach nonviolence as his central message. Instead, he becomes a revolutionary mystic-general - someone whose parables still speak of inner truth and unity, but always framed through the language of fire, resistance, and the sword.

-The Red Testament-

In this version of the New Testament:

The Beatitudes are reframed for the persecuted militias:

- "Blessed are those who rise with justice in their hearts, for they shall be called the fire of God."

- The "turn the other cheek" teachings are either absent or metaphorically reinterpreted as tactical patience - letting your enemy strike first to justify divine retaliation.

- There are tales of divine vengeance, including angelic retribution upon Roman outposts, lightning striking executioners, and prophetic dreams calling followers to arms.

-Crucifixion and Resurrection-

Jesus is still crucified, but:

- His execution is a strategic move by Rome to break a prophetic insurrection.

- After the resurrection, the followers form something akin to a mystic rebel order, blending inner enlightenment with guerrilla tactics.

- The symbol of the cross is often paired with a flaming sword - not just a symbol of suffering, but of righteous retaliation.

Christianity in this world becomes:

- Less about personal salvation and more about righteous transformation through resistance. Think liberation theology turned to 11.

- The early church does not spread by pacifism and martyrdom, but by synchronizing with uprisings and mythic victories across the empire.

- Ironically, some of these strands eventually temper and spiritualize later in history - much like some strands of Islam in peaceful eras.

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKAS OF TYRE

(Red-Testament Strand)

Prologue - The Turning of the Age

1 In the thirtieth year of iron rule, when the eagles of Rome spread their wings from Sidon to Petra, there rose rumors of a child whose breath was flame.

2 And the zealots whispered: “When the hammer falls, the Lamb shall roar.”

Chapter 3 - The Beatitudes of the Militia
1 And seeing the villages burned, Yeshua went up upon the shattered ridge and opened His mouth, saying:

2 *Blessed are the broken who rise, for they shall be the sinew of Zion.*

3 *Blessed are the hidden blades of the poor, for their strike is counted as righteousness.*

4 *Blessed are those who mourn with clenched fists, for vengeance shall comfort them.*

5 *Blessed are the pure of rage, for in their fire God is beheld.*

Chapter 6 - Of Cheeks and Swords

27 Then a scribe asked: “Rabbi, the Law says an eye for an eye, yet some speak of turning the other cheek. What say You?”

28 Yeshua replied: “Turn not the cheek in surrender, but in witness.

29 For when the oppressor strikes the first blow before witnesses, the heavens record his guilt, and the sword of the oppressed is loosed without blemish.”

Chapter 9 – The Cleansing of the Fortress-Temple

12 It was the feast of first fruits, and the procurator Hadrian set tables of tribute within the outer court.

13 Yeshua beheld the coins stamped with Caesar’s face and said, “You buy the silence of widows with silver scorpions.”

14 He overturned the tables, and a wind like thunder rolled through the courtyard.

15 The legionnaires drew steel, but their blades glowed red and fell molten to the stones, and the people shouted, “The Arm of the Lord!”

Chapter 14 - Parable of the Spark

7 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a single ember hidden under ash.

8 The tyrant thinks the fire is dead, yet a child breathes upon it, and behold-a blaze consumes the spear-shafts of the mighty.”

Chapter 19 - The Passion of the Flame

1 When He was condemned, Yeshua said to Pilate: “You pour water upon a coal you do not understand.”

2 They nailed Him to the beam outside the Jerusalem Gate, and the sky split with crimson light.

3 Lightning struck the tower of the garrison; its stones bled fire.

4 On the third dawn the tomb was opened - not by hands, but by a voice as of many trumpets: **“Rise, Sword of the Lamb.”**

Epilogue - Mandate of the Ember Order

1 And to the disciples He spoke, saying:

2 “Raise your hand if it holds the flame, and if not, raise your voice that the flame may find it.

3 Go into every province, lift the yoke from the neck of the lowly, and teach them this mystery:

4 *The Kingdom comes not with waiting, but with wielding-first within the heart, then upon the earth.*”
