The Alien being could teach a lot about stuff that I wish to know. I was once watching a video of some gameplay from the video game "Starfield", and it used the depiction it had in that game to "show me" what it thought a black hole looks like upon entering it.

A human being, however... there ain't anything coming out of that pie hole that I haven't heard a thousand times before.

I’ll be honest I’d treat them as hostile because they haven’t proven they aren’t.

It’s important to have discernment and just not be a lamb. Our lived experiences have taught us so. Especially our media.

If they are actually good intentioned they’d have to show me.

If they are of the extent and degree of being who can simply interlope into your life (and they're NOT a hallucination), then what else are they capable of, and yet choose to never employ? A zookeeper can easily kill an animal in an enclosure - but you don't see that happen very often if at all, do you? Why is that?

Jane Goodall at any moment could have dropped the pretenses, and busted out an assault rifle, firing with reckless abandon at the first sign of a Chimpanzee-based threat, and yet she never did. Not even close - not even a little bit. Why is that?

I’d argue that they have negatively interloped. From cattle/human mutilations, missing people that show up with no memory what happened, taking people at night and putting foreign things in them with no explanation, people going schizo, intimidation ala men in black, etc.

Just because it’s not every person affected doesn’t mean a lot of people haven’t been negatively affected.

Yet I can still believe there are good intentioned ones out there just like there are good humans. You just have to show it.
