God promising to preserve his word:
โThe words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.โ (Psalms 12:6-7)
โHeaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.โ (Matthew 24:35)
Which He considers to be more important than his own name:
โI will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.โ (Psalms 138:2)
Which you cannot even take in vain without getting in trouble:
โThou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.โ (Exodus 20:7)
And what kind of God inspires something just to let it be lost to human corruption and error? That's not the almighty God of the Bible.
And here's a warning. He's not messing around:
โFor I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.โ (Revelation of John 22:18-19)
