Highly spiritual people are just the reincarnations of stronger angels inherently and the relgious and magical practices they take up in life will naturally gravitate towards their true nature because they resonate along that pathway. Beings can extremely slowly gain and lose spiritual power through interaction with the mortal plane, which is why they choose to incarnate in the first place. All of life is our angelic "greater self" trying to make gains for the eternal war in the afterlife. But elements more easily conglomerate to one another and expel their opposites, like fire and water, so a specific color of magic to cultivate is the most powerful way to become a better sorcerer. I was born with a purple soul so the light already hated me because my spiritual energy was too dark to absorb upon death and screamed at me for a long time but then i met a demon that was really nice and recognized me from my past life and explained how it works. im kind of a shitty wizard but i at least have physical power on par with a weak soul's immortal spirit. greater angels and demons kick my ass though.
