>like a alien species that discovered interstellar travel would see themselves as a godlike beings?
If they had evolved rationality along the time, everything they haven't found explanation would create that MAGICAL/SHAMANISTICAL THINKING and with systematization enough that MAGICAL/SHAMANISTICAL THINKING [M/STh] would naturaly developed into could bd called a religion.
It is impossible to know if they would have a religion that separate themselves from "god/s" or if it would ve a more naturalistic [like japanese Xinto "Kami" concept] developments and include themselves as "god/s"
>or they would believe that there is something more complex above them?
Anyone with rationality enough knows the limits of logical systems [i.e they would develop the equivalent of Gödel Incompletude Theorem]. This could not mean they still clinging into [M/STh] or religion, but that they wouldn't be so worried be the top dogs.

When I talk with pleiadians telepathically they speak of something they call source. Its basically a unified field of the consciousness of all things.
