Anyone familiar with energy work or meditation? I never really was able to feel any energy in my neck and above but recently opened my throat chakra like a month ago and can feel it on will. Today I noticed I can feel an almost cool energy top of my head.
Does this have any consequences? I didn't open any of these channels on purpose I just do mindfulness meditation. I am on semen retention (+40 days) and have been trying to manifestion recently if it matters.

get yourself a copy of pic related
the biggest problem people face is they start opening energy channels and working with energy centers and they dont have the ability to ground the energy
master the downward energetic current so you have the ability to sink and release energetic build ups before you spend too much time charging your system and (potentially) driving yourself crazy

Driving myself crazy? Also thank you for the recommendation, will read. I never came into mediation for the energy practices just to increase my awareness so ive just been caught off guard and usually ignore the energetic sensations.

Interesting OP, I am the opposite of you: I could easily feel energy in my crown and 3rd eye areas since forever but I could never feel energy in my legs and belly - like those places didn't even exist on my body.

>Does this have any consequences
As far as I know if you overcharge your upper chakras and leave your lower ones underdeveloped then you may be become prone to paranoia and general disconnection from the world.

My lower ones would be the over developed ones but I'll see what I can find on that

Well there you go, that's your 2nd gate. Next is 40 weeks, isn't it?

also, reminder: you *can* always nut to reset if it feels too difficult, no shame in stepping back when you notice you're being overconfident

they are somewhat related - healthy energy channels create a stable foundation of your body to have deeper meditation
you dont need to become a qigong master necessarily, a little will go a long way, especially making sure you are keeping foundational alignments and an ability to release energy accumulations

Does this book talk about the basics? (Stillness of the body, relaxing the muscles, slow and deep breathing) or it jumps right into sensing energy and moving it? I'm asking because I really want to read analyzations about the basics but I can't find anything worthwhile. Thanks for the book recommendation anyway.

I struggled the most with the root chakra, you would know it as the energy as the base of your spine. Second most difficult for me was the crown chakra, the cool energy at the top of your head which you mentioned.
I have masturbated almost daily for the last 20 years. It isn't semen retention specifically that is helping you, but the discipline you manifest through it.

olfactoryanon owns this book, would recommend

Thanks, I've read your posts many times in the past year but I always wanted to read more books about it (I read the 2 YMAA books you mentioned in the past) but I wanted more.

Although I know that I have to practice more and read less.

>Although I know that I have to practice more and read less
yep
if you've been reading my stuff, you know you just need to get on with it and master it for yourself
once you get decently along that path, then worry about what else you might do
but you dont really need to go searching for breathwork stuff, I've read it all and you're getting distillations of it
what else do you think you need?
its always good to study the framework, but dont forego practice time for it.
