When the flashlight was shone through the ayy's eyes, we should be able to observe a phenomenon called subsurface scattering (see picrel), because all real complex-eyes (and not pseudo-eyes like those of primitive animals) must be translucent to some degree to allow the passage of light. But we did not, because that thing is a puppet made out of acrylic resin.

What strikes me as odd is how large its head seems to be in relation to the size of its torso and width of its neck. Even if it was genetically engineered, I'd expect a more proportionality in its physique to support a head of that size.
