I think you'd have to look inside yourself to understand. Bare with me please.
>Why would humans be any different? Why are we condemned by sin when animals do the same atrocious act that humanity has done? Ask yourself that. Do you know you've done wrong, not on a emotional level but down to the pit of your soul, if you've made your mom cry or accidentally broke someone's expensive antique? Do you understand the deep sense that something inside you is not right, doesn't belong on this world? That's why. Animals don't feel that, they can feel emotional guilt sure but animals can be completely content in the moment and just chill. Humans have a hard time with that. If you look at eastern religions, a lot of their end goal is to become like the animals, acclimate to the world, find peace in the moment and all that. Christianity on the other hand tells you to transcend that teaching and become the healing to the world. BECOME the love and light that you wish you could find. Other religions might teaching things like nonviolence, but the teaching of perfect love eludes them.
>Why do they commit these atrocities if they are not bound to sin?For the same reason I just mentioned that eastern religions teach. They're just trying to live in harmony with THIS fallen world by doing what they need to get by.
