Joe Rogan had some dude on his show that said the x-files was a fairly accurate-to-reality concept based on the government because chris carter himself was a part of the government conspiracies and was given a greenlight to leak this info to the world through fiction. That's why so many of those episodes have "coincidental" truth in them.
