The thing about being careful with what you wish is more related to good faith then not, in that sense, if you wish for something good, like a break, you can expect something good, but if you wish for something bad, you can expect for something bad. I don't think that God misinterpret us, even when we express ourselves poorly. However, it doesn't mean that we shouldn't aim for a better communication between ourselves, much the opposite, in that sense, 'be careful with what you wish' might just mean that you should care more for understanding, not that you will be misinterpreted by God, but you might misinterpret yourself and others, so...
