Magic just doesn't sound smart, I'm sorry. If you have the time to focus on these things, you also have the time to work on conventional things. Better books (Gospel, Ancient Greek and Roman classics etc.), better practices (learning skills, taking walks, meditating, hygiene etc.), I hope you can get your quick gains, but don't forget about the long term (love, salvation, stability etc.). So then again, don't do anything stupid and stop messing with magic.
