Alright /x/, we're going to solve this debate once and for all. Can ghosts just "float" into space? They are obviously not limited by gravity or physics in general, so what's stopping them from just going?

By chasing the sun you burn up your soul (ghost), stopping the cycle of reincarnation.

My problem with this (and same for Superman) is that you can't just float above the ground on a moving and rotating Earth. I mean if you're not attached to Earth anymore, for the Earth is moving very fast in the universe and rotating, then either you stay at the same spot in the universe or because of inertia you go on in a straight line motion in the universe but in both cases the planet goes away from you very fast. Unless you believe that the Earth is actually not moving, that is.

Ghosts for the most part are the residual energy of a persons soul. Bound to a place or person by some kind of twisted instinct. They are not capable of leaving the confines of their imprisonment. Though there's cases of hauntings following a single person across countries. I believe it is simply because they're bound to that person. They're not with them always, they manifest in the dark when their energy is strongest, wherever that person may be. They have no control over where and when they appear.
