Probably cause you've only told this to western women. Christian beliefs and values are deeply ingrained in western society even if the people aren't all christian themselves. So it's just different.
If you say you're buddhist to a culturally asian woman they probably wouldn't think much of it besides being curious as to how a western guy became buddhist.
