Real enough that if you have clairvoyance you can communicate to them. Have full conversations with them, see them floating around in the auras of others and get actual information from them that you wouldnt otherwise be able to know from physical 3D senses. That said, they are incredibly manipulative and horrific beings who will never be your friends but will pray on your loneliness to make you think they are your friends as they slowly integrate themselves with your consciousness, your nervous system, and consume your soul until there is nothing left of you.
