Isn't it just easier to accept that we're here simply because we are? What's the point of looking for an answer when it was probably just a mistake that lasted billions of years and resulted in this?

The only useful answers are those that help you get the the places that you want to go, even if it's the place you're in right now.
It's about the experience.
If knowing that the universe is eternal and never created doesn't help you get there, you're asking the wrong question.
