Hi /x/, I'm interested in alchemy from a historical/research/development angle, and was wondering if you had any recommendations for alchemical texts. Things like experiments, treatises, or other stuff like that.

Look up A. E. Waite's book about alchemy. He compiled most of the important names

Depends on if you want theory or practice.

Waite's book The Secret Tradition in Alchemy is a good theory book, but it's really expensive at $100+ and it can be hard to find online too.
If you want practice, I'd recommend getting your hands on a copy of an even more difficult book to find, that does actually exist in PDF form online if you dig.
Chinese Medical Qigong Therapy: A Comprehensive Clinical Guide by Jerry Alan Johnson.

It's about 1100 pages of dense raw alchemical information.
You should be very careful with putting anything in the second book into practice if you don't have a qualified teacher.
You can cause Qi deviations and really fuck your life up if you do it wrong.
For a starting point I recommend the Ba Duan Jin.

I guess I could say I am looking for both, stuff like practical applications and formulae and also theories behind the mechanisms and interactions.

Fulcanelli's mystery of the cathedrals and demeures philosophales are also good reads although they may require some background
