Every time there's a major event you'll find some part of it doesn't mesh with the rest. The part that doesn't mesh is done by the Guardians. The Guardians want you to be free. They pushed for masks. Not so they could make 0.003c off every one sold, but because it was a direct fight back against facial recognition.
Masks are the main part of the debacle that is roundly mocked, just like every other nonmesh incident, and in this case it's so people are reluctant to wear them thus facial recognition can progress. Other parts of the debacle that were way way more damaging, like not using physical cash so you can be easier controlled, were roundly adopted by goys and applauded.

The truth is that the Guardians are wasting their time. Goys want to be controlled because they know they're weak, pathetic, and need to be led.
