>>40714812 >Why not Hare Buddha, Hare Jesus? You could, but its a little weird. Hare is primarily an address to Radhe, to the consort of Krishna/Rama. So to address her while also bringing up other avatars is a strange and nonsensical mixing. Better, if you want to praise those jagat gurus, to use the ways they gave.

>>40718589 >"Hare" is a vocative form of "Hara," which refers to the energy of God, specifically Srimati Radharani, Krishna's eternal consort and feminine aspect. One of the things that separates the maha-mantra from other mantras is that it is not "saying" anything specific. You can roughly have it mean "Oh Krishna, please engage me in your service," but it's words dont really have that meaning. It is entirely just crying out the names. As Prabhupada would say, "like a child crying for mother".

>>40714770 >Why not Because the mantra has Its personality and Hara doesnt want to be separate from Krsna, get it? Sure, you can chant to Buddha or Christ, whats the harm? But dont tamper with whats already established
