The most /x/ band that has ever existed, and probably the most intentionally spiritually dangerous musical act of modern times. I'm not starting this thread to celebrate them, nor to discredit, but out of curiosity, specifically regarding what their run really means in the grander scheme of things.
If you don't know how far down the abyss they went (where were you?), I'll reductively cite a few points, besides the obvious general idea of their obsession with gay sex chaos magick
>Treated their songs as alchemical spells and rituals, imbuing their practices into every single aspect of their music.
>Inscribed sigils, invoked spirits, packaged their albums with strong artifacts, did ceremonial BDSM live shows..etc.
>Have genuinely attempted to dissolve time itself and bottle it into one of their experiments (the duly titled Time Machines). Many have experienced timeslips when listening to it under the right conditions.
>Were known scatophiles
>Peter ''Sleazy'' Christopherson, also of Throbbing Gristle fame, is related to the royal family. They knew of his activities.
>Were members of Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth, which was known for its rape controversies
>Speaking of which, Peter Christopherson permanently moved to Thailand following his partner John Balance's death. He later continued with releasing several artbooks and music videos featuring bloody naked thai boys.
>They had a massive amount of reach in the underground/avant-garde scenes. Any western artist who was interested in the occult during their active years has probably come into contact with them.
