A worldwide telephone communication system was already in place, add that with personal computers, networking hardware and specialized software and you have the internet. It was built on top of infrastructure that had been developed over many years before.
As for an occult origin, I'm not sure what you mean. But it's no secret most of these post-ww2 engineers explored psychedelics at some point in their lives. And that the first modern computers were developed during ww2 (the nazis made the first computers, destroyed in the bombardment of Berlin by the way) but you won't learn that in our cherry picked history lessons.
