What Is the real occult origin of the internet? Why was it that the world wide web was chosen instead of project xanadu? What are the occult implications of using machines as a form of memory expansion?

because Xanadu is honestly vapourware, as honest and forward thinking as Nelson is. Engelbart was inspired by Nelson anyways when developing hypertext, Wozniak and a bunch of early computer wizards were too.
A worldwide telephone communication system was already in place, add that with personal computers, networking hardware and specialized software and you have the internet. It was built on top of infrastructure that had been developed over many years before.
As for an occult origin, I'm not sure what you mean. But it's no secret most of these post-ww2 engineers explored psychedelics at some point in their lives. And that the first modern computers were developed during ww2 (the nazis made the first computers, destroyed in the bombardment of Berlin by the way) but you won't learn that in our cherry picked history lessons.

speaking of Engelbart I found this
>From 1961 to 1965, the Bay Area-based International Foundation for Advanced Study led more than 350 people through acid trips for research purposes. Some of them were important pioneers in the development of computing, such as Doug Engelbart
For the interested, I think this is quite insane to watch if you don't know about it already.

And that's just part 1. Here is a literal video call in 1968.

Well thinking about it a bit deeper, one can connect Leibniz's relation to alchemical societies, and Gรถdel's whole personal spirituality, with an occult origin of modern computing.
If you're wondering about greys I have nothing, other than the psychedelic connection.

David Lennox Mills might be someone worth looking into.
