The Jewish act of metzitzah b'peh, in which the ritual circumciser (mohel) sucks blood from the infant's circumcision wound, has always come off to me as an initiation ritual.
The Jews will claim MBP is done not only for hygienic reasons but also for Kabbalistic ones, that the sin of Adam was committed by the mouth and must therefore be corrected using the mouth. Since the baby cannot perform oral suction on his own penis, the mohel does it for him.
This rabbi also explains how the act of MBP unites the masculine element (genitalia) with the feminine element (mouth) so that the soul of the infant will be holy and will grow up using his genitalia for the purpose of holiness:

Given all of this, would it be correct to classify MBP as an occult ritual?
