>>40739902 Brazil is a very rich spiritual country, a natural reflection of the nation's astounding diversity. From the indigenous Tupis, Guaranis and Gês, to the african religions, Spiritists (following Alan Kardec and the brazilian Chico Xavier), Christianity and Protestantism (which also resulted in the Israeli Temple cult you mentioned, the "evangélicos"; the temple is a replica of Solomon's Temple), even Buddhism and Judaism from XVIII-XIX century immigrants, the list goes on. New faiths originated from this scenario, mainly the folklore or the different sects in the Northwest region. I've heard some interesting stories from Umbanda (and Kimbanda, which many treat as "Umbanda but directed towards others"), such as people seeing clones of themselves during rituals or being dragged by very intense invisible forces. Another enriching talk I had came from a southern Guarani tribe, whose leader I could speak with and he explained their view of natural elements as spiritual entities, specially the trees. It made me realize just how negligently our society treats their faiths: we cut down their (native) trees to exploit their wood and, as a "spiritual reparation", build them a "prairie chapel". As such, we hurt the spirits and yet they are the ones burdened to pray as a reparation.
All in all, you realize just how enriching faith's diversity can be, specially since the different views are often complementary and/or allow you to see things in a way you otherwise wouldn't, gaining new meanings, respect and spiritual inspiration.
