Wendigos don't work like that. That's a kitsune thing. Wendigos are basically how they're presented in until dawn, emaciated cannibalistic monsters. Skinwalkers, while we're on the topic of native american myths, are just sorcerers wearing animal pelts in order to take on their properties. They also cannot turn into attractive women to lure you in. Unless they were attractive in the first place, I guess.

I once saw something crawl out of the ocean and part way up the beach. I thought it was a sea turtle since it was nearly dark and couldn't fully make it out. I went up to it, some 300 meters, and saw the drag marks behind it. What did I see? A block of driftwood.
I think shapeshifting is a real phenomenon, how or why I cannot be sure. All I know is that no damn driftwood crawled itself out of the ocean and half way up the beach before I caught up to it.
