Let's discuss this. I tried eliminating my bias towards Tropical and now that I have, I can see why people are saying Sidereal works better, but if anyone has anymore insight, feel free to help.

I gotta go with Tropical because I identify much more strongly with Pisces rather than Aquarius

Well, the Sun is just the Ego, sense of self, the world, and pleasure.

The Rising is a summary of characteristics, basically.

Sidereal for those that are in sync with the current age. Tropical for those that didnt get the update.

>Sidereal or Tropical
All boils down to precessional cycle/[GREAT YEAR], and ancient civilizations and prsent day archeoastronomy.
There's some indications that Gobleki Tepe was an asyronomical/astrological temple/device.

Boomerbrained Siderealtard doesn't understand that the zodiac is timeless, and cannot be updated, because 0° Aries is by definition the spring equinox, and unrelated to the constellations

They're just different lenses tolet you analyze the state of heaven.
In the most common use case(Natal Chart) there's another chart you can use for an even more precise picture in conjunction with your Natal called a BaZi(The Four Pillars of Destiny).
Where Astrology gives you the state of Heaven, BaZi gives you the state of the Earth(your own energetic constitution)

>Rising as a filter of how you are perceived by others
That's probably how your ego wants to think of it.

Midheaven rules over public general perception. Rising kicks off your first house and is moreso who you actually are. The first house is pretty much where the ball is rolling full force despite the ego.

Sidereal is tied to fixed stars, not to constellations. It is actually quite aptly named, i.e. relating to the stars, NOT to the constellations. The tropical zodiac meanwhile relates to the solar cycle, which is a constant. I think the rationale in favour of tropical is plainly superior.

Sounds reasonable, but then again I'm going based off of very limited knowledge when it comes to anything planetary. Don't know nothin' 'bout none of that.

I thought I was convincing myself of sidereal for a bit there, but the more I did comparisons, it feels like I'm bending my mind to see it and it gets all fuzzy and confusing.

I definitely fit the bill for something like Sag Midheaven in Tropical, but it switches over to Scorpio in Sidereal and for my brother, he's got Cap Midheaven but it switches over to Sag in Sidereal which definitely doesn't suit him.

Of course, I tried looking in depth with many charts, considering houses, degrees, etc.

I felt like my Mars in Libra in the 9th made so much sense in Sidereal compared to my Scorpio Mars 8th house in Tropical, but almost everything else makes more sense to me in Tropical. (There could very well be some chart reason I don't relate to my 8th house mars and that would be easier to come to terms with then trying to convince myself of nearly a whole chart that doesn't resonate as much, that of which being the sidereal)

If Sidereal were for some reason more accurate, it's possibly very muddied at this point if we've been building upon descriptions of traits while using Tropical for this long.

I'm very fixed Fire in Tropical. Sidereal turns me into mostly cardinal Water. Big difference. If my moon changed, the conclusion would be even easier to draw, but in both cases, my moon is in Capricorn in the 12th house, which has always been an extremely accurate placement for me.

People really, unironically believe that astrology was only invented 2000 years ago and that's it.
Indians calculated the precession of the equinoxes and adjusted as needed. Why didnt you!?
Your magic tools and meanings are constantly updated in just a few centuries time, but somehow astrology went untouched. Pls

I find sidereal to be far more accurate, and to be exactly what the gnostics use to "guide" the world their way.
It also lines up with real-world events more often, and when you do birth charts the planetary traits match them better.

Yeah, i always argue that, if you wanna take trans saturnian planets into account, why not the precession of the equinox? Theyre both astronomical discoveries and the precession was known about for thousands of years, but they only want to talk about planets discovered in the last three hundred years

tropical astrology is how astrology looks if you take the precession of the equinox into account.
the signs of the zodiac are defined by the equinox.
0° Capricorn will always be the shortest day of the year, 0° Aries will always be the spring equinox, regardless how the "fixed stars" move through the ecliptic.

Uhhh, circle of light in sky entering... second, uhh, ayana like the ayanamsha? Second and fourth... uh, care to translate? Even knowing each word separately i struggle with full sentences. Or maybe knowing the words makes it harder. I know sanskrit words have at least 17 meanings. Hundreds if we talk vedic sanskrit

But then does the sun "enter" the signs in the same given dates? Now i see why mayans and others had different calendars going at the same time. One for religious festivities, another for agriculture

The English translation is:
>The zodiac is a wheel turning on a hub
>at the intersection of lines drawn
>from equinox to equinox
>and solstice to solstice.
>>40762796
>But then does the sun "enter" the signs in the same given dates?
The sun and the moon create the signs.
There are 4 seasons, and those seasons are divided by the 3 lunations that occur in them. This is why we have 12 signs. This is also where "modalities" originate from. Leo is the sign of midsummer, which is why it is a fixed (middle of the season) fire (summer) sign. That is also why trines have the same element, because the order of elements is always fire-earth-air-water. There is no water in spring, there is no air in summer, there is no earth in harvest, there is no fire in winter.
