Your friend had paranoid schizophrenia, I am sorry to inform you.
You can study these subjects all you want, with no danger to yourself, provided you yourself are not schizo active.

If you are susceptible to schizophrenia, I would advise you to avoid the subject altogether.
Adding external stress factors to the headspace of a paranoid schizophrenic may result in outcomes similar to your post.

Most concerning would be the belief you are being watched by everyone and everything and the world is caving in, and therefore you should kill yourself to avoid the inevitable.
If you experience such symptoms, check yourself into an institution immediately.

To add to my post, after re-reading the entirety of your friend's facebook post, let me point out what I think is most telling about his condition.

- Belief that a dark entity is following him
This is pretty typical schizo talk, something or someone is always aware of them and following them, and has negative intentions for them.
This is a pretty standard delusion to have.

- This entity can cause delusions and makes him feel like he is going crazy
The unfortunate news is he actually was going crazy. He had moments of lucidity where he was able to recognize this but they did not last long enough / he was not sufficiently lucid for him to rationalize the situation and get real help.
This is usually how paranoid schizophrenia sets in, moments of lucidity are lost and you begin to feel like something is wrong with you. At this point you should seek help.

- feeling like he had shifted to a location where he was the only person left in the world
This is a pretty typical detachment from reality. The cycle of paranoia results in the patient believing they are the only one with the correct truth in the world. Sometimes they entirely detach and lose their sense of community / feel like they are entirely alone on the planet.

- Belief that a physical parasite has entered his body after kneeling
This is along the lines of the "bugs under my skin" thing that results in a lot of schizo suicides. Something has unknowingly taken their body or possessed them and they are no longer themselves.

- Belief that he unknowingly sold his soul and he is no longer his own
Same as the point above about the parasite, just that now something internal has taken control.

The second half of the post:
This is a pretty typical schizo rant that you will see on less moderated conspiracy forums. Its basically an information dump about the entire belief system.

Oh yeah and when your friend says
>apparently I'm unique in nature and have absolute control of this thing
He is showing symptoms of the savior complex that sets in when you get really deep into your delusions.
You start to believe that you inherently are the unique case that can save the world from whatever it is you believe is in control.

Dig in and research all you want!
Just remember, if you start to feel watched, the correct thing to do is immediately hospitalize yourself.

Classic. I used to be really into UFOs too. Most of the channels I used to watch got nuked years ago, but if you want good resources, scan some ufo network archives and find a case with not a lot of activity / references, and start there.

The UFO sightings that blow up usually have a lot of artificial noise from people who want UFOs to not exist because it helps them sleep at night.
