If the galaxy is full of alien life, especially advanced life that looks like us (bipedal, symmetrical, etc) who's to say aliens are even interested in us. Like maybe we're just catalogued on the back burner, and when there's a time with a bunch of UFO sightings like the end of WWII that's just the aliens looking at an anthill and they haven't revealed themselves because their society has decided we aren't worth it

I dont believe theres anything out there. It seems more likely that everything "alien" actually originated from this planet. Realistically it makes much more sense that previous civs rose up and left somehow. That also doesn;t mean they left earth forever either. I imagine that if their crafts can handle space travel they can definitely build things underwater.
